Essential documents and items
- Original ID (entry uses real-name booking; bring relevant documents for children and for any discounts);
- Phone and power bank (for booking, gate checks and contact);
- A little cash (some stalls or special situations may not take mobile payment).
What to wear
- Layer up: quick-dry base + warm mid + windproof shell, easy to adjust with the temperature;
- The summit is markedly colder and windier than below — bring a jacket even in summer;
- In winter add warmth: gloves, hat and scarf;
- Non-slip, well-fitting trainers or hiking shoes are best.
Gear checklist
- Rain gear (a light raincoat beats an umbrella when the summit winds blow);
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen);
- Water and a little high-energy food;
- Regular medicines (motion-sickness, stomach and topical remedies, as needed);
- A small pack so your hands stay free; carry belongings in the pack to avoid dropping them.
Note
Mountain weather changes fast — check the day's forecast. Travel light, keep valuables with you and carry your rubbish down to help protect the environment.
